Well, Mrs. Brackett recommended using Yahoo groups, but unfortunately it is blocked by the Springfield Public Schools firewall, so I'm coming back to this. I started it last year, when I was super excited about using blogs, but unfortunately time killed me and it. So, it begins anew today.
If you're unfamiliar with using a blog, they're really simple. Once I invite you to become a member, you simply accept. If you don't have a Google account, then you will have to set one up, but it's simple too. After setting up your Google account, you can become a full member of the blog, which gives you access to posting and commenting. If you want to post, simply hit the button "New Post" in the upper right hand corner (when logged in). Type what you need to, like in an email, and hit "Publish Post." It's that simple. If you want to comment to something that's been written, click on the word "Comments" below the post, and it will allow you to write a comment, and "Publish your comment."
This will hopefully save us all some time and energy, and make things a bit more convenient. Instead of having to make phone calls when practice or games are changed, I'll post it to the blog for you to see, and announce it on the announcements for the players to hear. Hopefully that will be easier for all parties involved. Also, feel free to email me at tmmaerke@spsmail.org (remember, there is two m's there) if you have questions or concerns.

Thanks
Well, I really didn't use this quite as much as I intended. I have no excuses other than the same one everyone else uses - no time. The season was an enjoyable one, although winning would have been a wonderful addition. I learned much and had some fun, and I hope the players did as well.
This morning was a good time to get everyone together, and I appreciate the plaque and giftcards everyone got me.
Honestly, these first 9 weeks at P.V. have been somewhat of a dream. Having fun at my new job is easy, and one major part of that has been from 3:00 - 5:00 when I was able to coach those players. We worked hard, and it wasn't always smiles, but we improved from week to week, and became tighter as a team through it.
Hopefully, I have been able to foster in the players a love in a great game that they will continue to play for many more years to come.
Thanks so much again for the privilege of coaching your players.

New Schedule
There is a revised schedule. Jarrett has added a JV 1 team, so things have changed a little. We still have the same game days, but the order of the teams that we play has changed, as well as some of the times and locations. Check the link below to see the revised schedule.

High School Soccer Schedule
Just found this online when checking out Hillcrest's site, and figured I would share it with anyone who was interested.
Hopefully we will have plenty of PV representation at Hillcrest for years to come.

Soccer Schedule
I've been trying to paste the schedule into Google Docs but it won't accept a .pdf file, so I have provided the link to open the schedule below. I will also make sure that the boys receive a paper hardcopy of the schedule.
Please notice that we actually don't have a game next week; our first game will be September 11.

Great first day of practice. It was a lot of fun for me, and I hope for the players as well.
The meeting last night at Lake Country provided no information regarding jerseys or schedule, so hopefully I will get that tonight. I will be sure to get that information out as quickly as I get it.
Here is a practice schedule for the rest of the week:
- Tuesday - 3:00 - 4:45, Skills practice, games, and small scrimmages
- Wednesday - 3:00 - 4:45, Skills practice, games, and full scrimmage
- Thursday - 3:00 - 4:45, Skills practice, games, and small scrimmages
- Friday - 3:00 - 4:30, video, full scrimmage
